A Technical Support Unit has been set up within NASCOP to support the Government of Kenya  – NASCOP and NACC on Key populations programming. Key Populations include Female Sex Workers (FSW), Male sex workers, Men who have Sex with Men (MSW & MSM) and People who Inject Drugs (PWID)

The project is implemented by the University of Manitoba and is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in partnership with the World Bank. The main objectives of the TSU is to develop technical strategies and guidelines, build capacity and provide implementation support for the scaling up of HIV prevention programs for Key populations in Kenya with the goal being to contribute in reducing HIV incidence in Kenya by improving the scale, quality and impact of HIV prevention programs among Key populations. In addition, the project is supporting National AIDS Control Council (NACC) to develop Key Populations policies and a performance framework for Key Populations programming.
